Imagina Symphonic Orchestra Closes Instituto Lux 70th Anniversary Celebration

In a very emotional night, Instituto Lux ended the 70th anniversary celebration with a concert by the Orquesta Sinfónica Infantil Imagina and the Compañía Músico Vocal Josefa Vergara.  More than two thousand persons enjoyed the performance that included a wide variety of musical pieces from classical to popular.  Imagina interpreted classical pieces by Tchaikowsky and Johann Hummel.  They also rendered popular songs from María Grever, Consuelo Velázquez,  The Beatles, and Queen.

In a joint performance Imagina and the Compañía delivered a homage to Henry Mancini.  The Compañía went on to sing a cappella the potpourri The Time Machine. They also interpreted pieces by Consuelo Velázquez, The Beatles, Queen, John Lennon, and José Alfredo Jiménez.

The newspaper AM published the following note: Tocan y cantan por el Lux.  The newspaper El Heraldo de Leóncovered the event as Un concierto para la historia (Concert for history.)
